HopeWood Awards

Each year, three awards are given out at the HopeWood Gala, honoring individuals and congregations that exemplify the mission, vision, and values of HopeWood Outdoors out in the world. 

Candlelight Luminary Award: This award is presented to an individual whose dedication to our campsites and programs goes far beyond the ordinary. Volunteering, for them, is a deep and selfless commitment to the mission of our camping ministry. Their unwavering dedication has left an indelible mark on our community, shining the light of Christ into every corner of our work. Their impact is not only felt but also seen and admired by all who witness it. They serve as a guiding beacon, inspiring others to follow in their footsteps and illuminating the path of service for all.

Evergreen Legacy Award: This award honors a distinguished alumnus who not only excelled in their role during their time on staff but has also continued to carry forward the mission and values of our organization. Their legacy is one of lasting impact, as they continue to advocate for and embody the principles that are at the heart of our ministry. Like the evergreen that stays vibrant through every season, their commitment to our mission remains steadfast, inspiring future generations to nurture both faith and the natural world.

Community Compass Award: This award is presented to a congregation that has exemplified eagerness, excellence, and unwavering reliability in hosting or supporting our programs. Serving as a true anchor point for their community, this congregation opens its doors and hearts, ensuring that faith and fun flourish within their walls. Through their generous commitment of time, resources, and energy, they create a vibrant space where people of all ages can connect, grow, and find joy in the community of faith. Their dedication not only supports our mission but also strengthens the bonds of fellowship, guiding their community like a compass towards shared purpose and spiritual growth.
