Did you know that Lutheran Memorial Camp at HopeWood Pines was founded in 1945 in memory of the soldiers who’d died during World War II? Jesus said that there’s no greater love than a willingness to lay down your life for others (John 15:13). This week, with Veterans Day close at hand, we remember the forethought of LMC’s founders, honor all those who served in the armed services, and give thanks for your willingness to take such risks on behalf of others. We now work toward and wait for the reign of God, where at the river of life there is war no more, when all life is at peace.
